I picked up Alex from daycare at 2:30pm on Friday afternoon and his teachers told me that he didn't sleep well during nap time (only 40 minutes) and that he kept some of the other children from sleeping because he was crying. I thought...I'll try to put him down for a quick nap as soon as we get home so that we could have an enjoyable evening with him after he rested. I read him two books and put him in the crib. He was talking to himself a little bit (normal) and about 20 minutes later I was unpacking my bag from work and I heard the jingle of his blue bear...except that I hadn't heard it through the monitor. I walked from the kitchen to the bottom of the stairs and there was Alex sitting on the second step with his blue bear, just smiling away at me! After I thanked God for not letting him fall down the stairs I couldn't help but just smile at Alex! Ha ha! Well, we had a great evening and we decided to put him to bed in his crib, and then switch to the toddler bed today. I put him down at 7pm and we didn't hear a peep. I got tired EARLY at 8:30 and thought that I would just go peep in at him one more time. Well, he was asleep in the middle of his floor, in a little pillbug ball with his butt in the air. He was holding his Easter bear from Aunt Megan and Uncle Michael, which he decided to bust out of jail with. My heart melted and at the same time I thought "What a rascal!" I carefully picked him up and put him in his crib. Today we put the toddler rail up and he couldn't stop saying "Whoa!" Well, it did take a bit to get him to stay in for naptime but he slept for two hours! Tonight, we did out bedtime routine at 7:15, read three books, I put him in bed, and closed the door. He moaned/whined a little when I left but NEVER got up. I couldn't believe it...of course it's only been 30 minutes. We'll see how tonight goes but we're two for two today so far. Also, today Marc and I had a dance lesson and we did the Foxtrot. Next Saturday we have our second lesson and we'll brush up Foxtrot and start Swing. We really had a fun time! Right now we're anxiously awaiting the arrival of our first niece, Callie D. Stocker!!!! We are praying for Kelsey and little Callie, and for a safe and quick labor/delivery!
Checkin' out the big boy bed. Comfy!Don't take away my tunes, mom! I love my music!
What a ham!

We're probably going to switch Meghan to a "big girl bed" in the next few weeks. (That way we can re-use the crib for the new baby in June.) Our transition might get moved up because tonight Meghan was able to flip herself out of the crib in the hotel (we're visiting Chapel Hill for the night.) Hope things continue to go well with the sleeping!!
