FRIENDS FOREVER

We were blessed to have our friends Josh and Jill come visit from Baltimore, MD, two weeks ago--before we leave for California.  We have been friends with them since 2004 and they are some of our best friends.  Josh and Marc deployed together in 2005 and Jill and I hung out together while they were gone (neither of us had kids yet), forming a friendship that will last a lifetime.  Will we ever forget the fun times we had?  I think not...hours and hours of Cranium, especially over Thanksgiving when I was on R&R.  We definitely floated that keg, ha ha!  They introduced us to our current church/church family which has had a tremendous impact on our lives, not just spiritually, and we are indebted to them for that!  Now they have two beautiful daughters, Abigail and Brooke, and they had a great time playing with Alex (see below).  Josh and Jill, we already miss you (from here to Baltimore) and will miss you even more across the country!!  We definitely plan on visiting Baltimore and hope you will visit us in San Diego.

BREAK THROUGH

Alex has been wearing uderwear at school this week and has peed through 2 pairs of underwear each day.  But no poop yet which is good.  Yesterday afternoon at daycare he went to the bathroom area all by himself, took off his diaper, and pooped in the potty.  He then yelled, "Ms. Connie, I pooped."  She feared the worst but was so proud of him when she saw that he had gone on the potty all by himself!!  I was ECSTATIC when I got to daycare and he announced it to me.  Later that evening he proceeded to poop in his diaper two more times but that break through shows me that there is light at the end of the tunnel.  We are so proud of Alex going potty all by himself!!  Enjoy some pictures of the past week!  Love, Carrie

Becca's baby shower was last Saturday and it was so fun!  She looks beautiful and is due 24 May.  Unfortunately I don't think we'll get to see/meet baby Laine before we move.  Boo hoo.
New turtle jammies...he loves these!
More scooter time from Easter afteroon.

VIDEO CATCH-UP!!

Well, alright. I finally am up with vimeo, thank goodness! I can now put longer videos on the BLOG. Here are three recent ones. One was the hilarious basketball one that goes with my "NBA Tryouts" BLOG a week or so ago. The other two are from Easter morning...discovering our basket and hunting for eggs. Alex just continues to crack us up on a daily basis. Right now he'll tell me, "I'm mad" if doesn't want to do what I asked and is huffing and puffing about (i.e. when I say it's time to brush teeth). It's so hard not to laugh because he makes this hilarious "mad" face that is actually sooo cute. On Saturday he came in and woke me up at 6am, saw Marc's picture on my bedside table and exclaimed, "Daddddy!" "Daddy's my friend." He just melts my little heart. Tomorrow he will be trying to wear his Elmo underwear at school (peer pressure) per his teacher's request. I told her to just throw them away if there is a #2 accident. Gross. On a happy note, enjoy the videos (password=alex)!

EGGS-CELLENT

Well, we had a wonderful Easter and have so many blessings to be thankful for! We got two offers on our house, just two days after we listed it with a real estate agent, so we're under contract now! Thank you for answering those prayers God, we are so greatful!! We went to Easter service on Saturday evening to avoid the Sunday crowds and because Marc was leaving for his trip Sunday afternoon. Alex was quite the poser once he was all dressed up and Marc and I both got some really cute pics of him!! He is such a little gentleman when he wants to be and melts our hearts everyday! After church ("Mommy, church is fun," he said when we picked him up from the nursery.) we went home and dyed a dozen eggs that I had hard boiled earlier in the day (thanks to the egg boiler indicator from Grammy!). He was very excited to put stickers on the eggs too, once they dried. He placed his basket outside before bed (third to last picture) and was overjoyed with the goodies from the Easter Bunny on Sunday morning. We had a nice egg hunt, ate some mini-snickers and blue Peeps for breakfast, then took Rummy on a long walk while Alex rode his scooter (he's really good at this now and loves going fast). Unfortunately, I cannot get any of my Easter morning videos to download but I'll try again later; I did post the scooter video from Sunday afternoon. Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!!

NBA TRYOUTS

My mild-mannered cutie below (he does have on pants) recently got ready for his tryouts with the Houston Rockets. He's become quite the basketball player since his Aunts Margot and Mal got him a basketball goal for Christmas! Check out the action shots/footage below!

It's not easy being this cool.

That's right, look out for me Yao. I'm coming to get you.

He preps for the dunk...
He scores a perfect "10."

Gotta get my calories in mom, yummy pizza!

The old crazy eye look for mom.

He cannot hold that crazy eye look and keep a straight face!

Here is Alex working on his vertical jumping skills.
