BLOG CATCH-UP

Thanks to Chuck and Christy coming to stay with Alex, Marc and I attended the I MEF Birthday Ball on 19 November.  Don't worry...we noticed Marc's missing collar eagles before we got there.

Our delicious Thanksgiving meal...we're so blessed and fortunate.  Gig 'em Aggies!

Alex loves playing with his pretend shaving kit from Aunt Kelsey and  Uncle Charlie.  He "shaves" his legs, chin, and his head (just like daddy shaves his head)!

 shaving cream on the head...

Marc and I attended the 1/11 Birthday Ball this past Thursday.  We had a great time!

Our good friends Taylor and Amy Young...we knew them back in 2003 at Camp Lejeune.  It's a small Corps!

...and finally, Charlie is back at Camp Pendleton.  I know he's VERY excited to get to Texas and see Kelsey and Callie!

This LCU was Tiger Mike's ride to shore.  He's just behind that HMMWV to the right.  In true US Navy fashion, the Marines and Tigers had to wade through 18" of water for 3-4 feet to get to the beach!  My dad was a great sport and it sure was great to have him and Charlie back!

HALLOWEEN, PART ONE

18 October...the prep work continues.  Buzz Lightyear watches a movie.

18 October...Buzz Lightyear runs tests on his rocket pack.
29 October...Alex makes a pumpkin mask at school and won't take it off at home.  I texted Marc (in South Dakota at the time) a picture from my phone (not the best quality, it's 4 years old) and he replied that Alex looked like Jason (from the scary Halloween movie).  I died laughing for hours about that.
Happy Birthday Mommy!

My sweet little boy...he gave me a special "Happy Birthday" song, LIVE!

30 October...Marc had returned from his hunting trip the night before and showed me and Alex his hunting attire and his 4 day beard growth!  Rugged and cute!

30 October...Alex and I cleaned out and carved pumpkins.  We separated ALL of the seeds from both pumpkins and then I washed and roasted them with seasoned salt and old bay, yummy!!
Here's how they turned out:

30 October still...we headed over to the Harvest Festival on base for bounce house fun, carnival games, free food, and lots of candy prizes!  Here is Alex going down the slide of the bounce-house obstacle course.  He did it TONS of times!!!

Here is Alex squatting down as the rules of ring toss were explained..he's very serious.

What's a festival without a cherry snowcone????

Here's a pretty funny video of Alex doing the bean bag toss on Saturday.  Watch out Nolan Ryan...
