All's Fair

We went to the San Diego Fair on Sunday and boy was it fun!  We (Alex) rode lots of rides, ate yummy junk food, and saw lots of animals!  Every ride we got off of would prompt Alex to say, "I wanna do it again."  He has been looking forward to the "carnival" for a week since we told him we were going.  He was SO excited and was very well behaved too.  He was not afraid of ANY rides and rode almost everything for kids 36 inches tall.  Some kids cried on some rides but not our little guy.  He was laughing through them all, including the roller coaster that mommy rode with him.  Last night after he brushed his teeth he said, "Going to the carnival was fun." That's why we're parents, it melts my heart when he has fun and tells us!! password for each video is alex.

HOME SWEET HOME

Well, we are certainly getting settled into the new house and it's great so far!  We love the weather and where we live-great house and great location.  Our furniture and boxes were delivered on 2 June and it's been an unpacking frenzy!  My mom (Bammy) came out that same day and thank goodness she did!  Marc and I both got some horrible stomach flu and were worthless!  My mom was like a whirlwind, unpacking tons of stuff, including the ENTIRE kitchen (and putting it all away after cleaning out everything), which was a TON of work.  She stayed through Sunday, then Chuck and Christy came the next weekend.  We got some big projects done like hanging big things around the house, rearranging furnitre, and most importantly, Alex's bathroom!  It is a double vanity sink area with lots of room but separate toilet/shower room was very cramped due to sliding glass doors.  Chuck took the doors and frame off then Christy and I went to work scraping all of the clear caulk off.  It was very messy and gross, and our muscles were definitely feeling it the next day.  It is MUCH better in there now and I can easily bathe Alex.  Thank you Chuck and Christy for of your hard work and delicious cooking!!
There are 3 neighborhood tot lots within walking distance of our house and we have been frequenting them.  Alex has a blast on the big slides!
The gator is back in action, too!

More tot lot fun in his shades...the ladies love it.

Alex had two-accident free days (potty training) at school and mommy had a huge surprise for him...A Toy Story backpack.  He was so proud (see smile below) and wears it around the house all the time, not just to school!  Way to go Alex!! Mom and Dad are proud too!

Tub fun !

Fun bubble bath!

Cheerios for breakfast, they're a fave...

Christy cooked some delicious meals for us...here she is breaking in Marc's new grill in the backyard!

Snuggle time with daddy, and the 2 foot dinosaur.

Rummy and Goldie rule the roost in the backyard...

Alex likes to watch the hot tub bubbles, under strict supervision of course! (that was for the parents)

front of the house, with Uncle Charlie's car...

This is a shot from the stair landing looking out over the living room.  Boxes were still out at this point.

Alex has a playroom now which is awesome!  He loves his own space for all his fun stuff and it makes the rest of the house less cluttered looking for us grown-ups.

Here are Christy and I hard at work, scraping in the bathroom!

THE ROAD GOES ON FOREVER....

Well, we have had a fun week in Texas but we are leaving for California today.  Alex and I spent 2 nights with Grammy and Papa and Aunt Morgan and had lots of fun walking to the creek, petting the horses, and watching the fuddafoes (buffalo).  We spent our last three days with Paw-Paw and Grandma Susie.  We took Alex to the zoo on Thursday which was awesome and this morning he got to go flying with Paw-Paw.  We are so blessed to have lots of loving family to stay with and have fun with.  We are excited to get the next chapter going, though, and we miss daddy/Marc!  We will be in our new house on 1 June and our stuff will be delivered on 2 June.  We are looking forward to our first visitor too...Grammy is coming out on 2 June to help unpack and get everything situated.  We'll BLOG the move-in and new house next week!

Alex swam almost everday.  By yesterday afternoon he could swim the length of the pool with his arms over a noodle, with no help from us!!  Quite impressive...video at the bottom, password is alex.
Picking fresh green beans from Grandma Susie's garden
swim safety break...a quick snack!
I wanted to go to the farm to see the new road and we couldn't escape without Alex getting to ride in the Ranger and on the four wheelers.  Afterwards we headed over the Bryan to see big Paw-Paw Jim and Great Grandma Jo for lunch.
Zoo trip!!!
This baby elephant was my favorite...it was so cute.
Yummy pancake breakfast this morning!
