NEW SWIM FLOAT, NEW TENNIS SHOES!

Willow punctured Alex's floatie so we had to get a new one. This one is a little more exciting anyways. Alex and I went to the pool on Father's Day where he splashed around in the baby pool (1 foot deep) and then we played together in the big pool during the safety break!

He really liked walking around in the baby pool, holding onto the edge!

Last Saurday we joined my mom and Champe at the Neptun's house for brunch. Alex enjoyed eating his mouse. This is his new thing...he puts the mouse tail in his mouth and then continues whatever he was doing...the mouse just hangs there and it's so cute!!

Alex got his first pair of tennis shoes last weekend and he tested them out Sunday evening in his pajamas. He likes them and doesn't try to get them off which is good. I think it actually makes it easier to stand/walk b/c it's a solid support base!

26 June....today Alex stood by himself, on his changing table, while I was getting him ready for his bath. (See BLOG and video below for details).

Getting Quick and Standing Solo!!

Alex is really getting quick with his mail cart. Sometimes he will actually sort of "run" with it, which is hilarious. Either way, he is very entertained by himself walking, which you can tell by his funny little laughter! This was on Thursday, 26 June. He melts my heart, I tell you!!!!!

I was getting Alex ready for his bath on Thursday night. I took off his clothes and he started to pull himself to the standing position by holding on to me. I was helping balance him a little, then he just let go and I wasn't holding him anymore. He stood there for what seemed like an eternity, but it was a good 30 seconds. He even caught himself and regained his balance a couple of times and probably thought mommy was a bit crazy b/c I was cheering him on and clapping (but waiting to catch him, too)! He did it again right after that and so I thought I would go ahead and bathe him, then grab the video camera. Well, I bathed him, dried him off, put on a diaper (enter Marc, home from work), but then he just wouldn't/couldn't do it again, for a long period of time. We did manage to get a quick video of him, though, and a few pics from right afterwards in his pajamas. Good job, Alexander!!!!

Alex was very intrigued by "Booger" and was definitely trying to figure out if Booger spoke baby talk. You can't tell on the video but Alex was presing his forehead into the glass when he was trying to look closer...too funny!

Alex loved his new swing in Huntsville! Grammy was pushing him and he really enjoyed it! The picture gets a little hazy towards the end thanks to the good old Texas humidity!

Alex couldn't quite stay on his feet at first!! The walker was adjusted to a very slow resistance...we've since changed the setting by two levels and he's doing great!

Same day, take two. This was about a week ago...he's pretty quick now!
