THANKSGIVING CATCH-UP

Yes, I was sooo close to a month without blogging.  Horrible, and I have no excuses.  Here are some pictures from our fun trip to TX for Thanksgiving.  Our trip started out to at trip to "doc in a box" as my dad calls it...we drove their straight from the airport because I was really sick.  Turns out I had bronchitis and got some antibiotics and an inhaler.  I was in bed (thanks to everyone for helping with Alex while I recovered and a special thanks to my dad and Susan for giving up their bed to me).  We had a great time at the farm with Paw-Paw and Susie and with Grammy and Papa at their house, feeding the "fuddafoes" (buffalos) and Twavewer (Traveler, the horse.  The highlight of the trip was probably my dad's 60th birthday, HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!!  I had a little too much fun that night (red wine) so I had a rough morning!

I do have to comment here...um, Callie and Alex, word of advice:  Paw Paw is probably not the best person to be learning chain saw lessons from.  LOTS of mishaps with them.  Also, do not go near a campfire with him.

Okay, this is funny, too.  Alex was "planting a tree" so he could cut it down with the chainsaw.  Classic.

Alex was a little scared to get close at first but Aunt Morgan cleared that right up! Thanks Morgan!

BELATED BIRTHDAY POST

For my birthday, Marc surprised me with an evening at sea!  Just the two of us on our own boat (and the captain, of course)....it was soooo nice!  We brought a picnic dinner and set sail for three wonderful hours!  Thank you Poppy and CC for watching Alex (again) for us that night!  Thanks for my birthday dinner cruise sweetie!

 hey Buffy, ha ha ha!

NEW SPIDEY ROOM

Our little munchkin is not so little anymore.  It was time for the full size bed because he was getting so tall (and 4 years old)!!  He wanted a "Spiderman room" so that's what we did.  We ordered the rails and slats to make the toddler bed into a full size (what a good investment that convertible crib is...highly recommended by us!).  Here are the pictures:

TWICK OR TWEAT

We had a great Halloween (boo!) and were very lucky to have Poppy and CC join us in sunny California!  After months of anticipation to dress up like Spiderman for the neighborhood, Alex went with the monkey costume and boy was he cute.  This was a nice warm costume and it was chilly so it worked out great!  He was dressed and ready way before it was dark...

(no, I did not get candy too...that was to empty Alex's into periodically so he didn't get tired!)

 ...on the move...

 look at the loot!

Alex got to have "pajama" day at school on Halloween and he picked the skeleton ones.  They got to decorate pumpkins, "disect/carve" them, and of course have a Halloween party with all the goodies!  He couldn't wait to go to school!!

Backing up...we carved pumpkins on Saturday.  Marc and I separated all the seeds and then I cleaned, seasoned, and roasted them for a yummy snack!  Alex was REALLY into carving the pumpkins and was a pro at punching the pattern onto the pumpkins!

We also celebrated my birthday saturday w/ a yummy cupcake cake that Marc ordered (33 cupcakes)!
