We are so thankful and fortunate to have Poppy and CC help us out with Alex! While Marc was in 29 Palms I had to take a weeklong trip to Bridgeport, CA for a training exercise. Poppy and CC drove in from AZ and Alex got a week out of daycare and got to do lots of fun stuff....take a look! The last 5 pictures are from my trip to Bridgeport...beautiful location and wonderful weather.

LOTS OF CATCH-UP!
We have been VERY busy and it shows by my lack of blogging during the last 30 days! Here goes a huge catch-up!
Charlie was here for a three week school so we really enjoyed getting to see him on the weekends!
Charlie had to work Saturdays, but that turned out alright the first weekend because Alex and I had tickets to the circus! We were on the second row and didn't miss any action. We also got there early and got to walk through the animals' living spaces. That was definitely the closest Alex has gotten to elephants and tigers and it was really awesome! They even started to bathe the elephants and get their headdresses on in preparation for the show. Alex LOVED watching all the elephants from so close!
The show (Ringling Brothers) was spectacular. You name it they had it. Alex was a little scared of the clowns at first but was fine by the end. We even snacked on popcorn and ice cream, what a treat!
These two "strong men" were incredible...they were spinning phone poles and all sorts of crazy stuff!
Alex wanted to put this picture on the blog, showing Rummy ate his basektball.
We have been eating dinner outside a lot, enjoying the AWESOME socal weather!
On Sunday, we went to Legoland with Uncle Charlie, including the new waterpark! The water was quite chilly but that didn't stop Alex from wearing out those water slides! We also rode the lazy river multiple times. They have some innertubes that have a bottom so Alex just perched right in it and we rode around the big circle. Charlie made sure I got soaked everytime we passed a sprayer or waterfall...he pushed my side of our double tube right into "harm's way!" Thanks, Charlie! Alex thought it was hilarious...he had a blast and was really tired by the time we left! Thanks for going with us Uncle Charlie!
Alex and I have also been doing lots of swimming. His three months of swimming lessons ended in July so we've been practicing a lot at home. It's so nice to heat the pool up and enjoy it on the hot days!
We just had fresh sod put in the backyard for Rummy (and us, it was an eyesore) and it looks great! A few of the squares have browned a bit so I have the sprinklers on more often...hopefully it helps!
Yesterday I took a day off from work and Alex and I went to the Safari Park. As usual, we had a great time and got there when it opened before it was really hot!
COMING SOON: My trip to Bridgeport, CA, and Alex's week with Poppy and CC!

ALEX THIS WEEK
Look out, it's Spiderman!
My newest project (started Feb 4th) is growing an avocado tree. I will continue to update with pictures-it's actually growing really fast and is bigger than the picture below, taken on 29 June. I just started my second tree, which is recommended for cross pollination. These little trees will be moving with us for years to come because it takes up to 4 years to produce fruit! Stay tuned for the avacado updates...
Alex loves his gladiator costume from Grammy and has finally warmed up to it. He says it's his costume to "get the bad guys."
