VACATION MANIA!

We took a much needed mini-vacation over President's Day holiday weekend and boy was it fun!  We invited Chuck and Christy to join us at Marriott's Villas in Newport Coast and it really was nice, especially because the weather turned out nice despite the forecast for rain.  Sorry for not blogging in 19 days...here are 27 pictures to make up for it.
Check out these new water shoes, I like them...

Trying them out at the playground, before we head to the pool...

Good grip.  I'm sure glad Poppy took me to the playground!

Alex is such a climber these days and he's very athletic...

Thankfully the pools were all heated to 85 degrees....Alex did this about 100 times I think.  He had so much fun jumping in and swimming with me.

 Good air picture by Poppy...

 Splish Splash...he got me.

Marc ordered some nachos and Alex was chowing down, he liked them.

 One more, I can't resist.

Oh, yeah...hitting the hot tub after a long swim and some nachos.  We couldn't get Alex to leave...you'll see why in the next few pictures.

yes, that's his smoothie.  but it's not why he won't leave the hot tub...

 yumm...refreshing and delicious.

...and, hello ladies.  the blondes came to the hot tub and that was it.  check out alex's little "peek a boo" move around the railing bar.  ha ha!

 ...and another one...welcome friend.

more swimming with mommy...we were practicing our kicks on the side.

 Air Alex

 back to the hot tub...

 the older women...

sunbathing...he really enjoyed laying in the sun and wasn't impatient or anything while we took a break.

...and there was a brunette, too...

heading to dinner with mommy and CC in the back seat..

CHEEEEEESE!

BIKE RIDE TO THE PLAYGROUND

The weather here is AWESOME.  Enough said.  Although we will never live in CA for a prolonged period of time I have to admit you can't beat being able to ride a bike 365 days a year!  We are soaking up the January weather, that's for sure!  Alex is getting very strong and can do so much at the playground by himself!  It makes me nervous but I'm also so proud of how independent he is.  He asks me to "stand back" instead of helping on the tall obstacles!  I also think he's on a huge growth spurt because he's been eating a lot at dinner every night this week.  He only weighs 32 pounds but I think he's just going to be long and lanky!

Charlie did a good job of helping tire Alex out.  Playing chase has become a regular thing now!

I love this video.  Alex is so his mother, me.  The boy loves to clean, what can I say????  Even my dad is "Tom Sawyering" him here.

CUTE SHOTS

Here are a few funny pictures from the past week. I will have some new videos posted before the weekend!
Alex definitely had fun with Uncle Charlie while he was staying with us!

Alex had a nightmare one night last week and then was a little too awake to go back to sleep.  Marc took one for the team and went downstairs with Alex.  He finally fell asleep on the couch with Marc at around 5:15am...Marc was exhausted!

Yes, Alex is all about riding his bike now.  Of course, this is the only helmet-less picture I have.  He is doing really well and can pedal all the way to the playground without mom or dad helping.

Marc was a softie on Saturday and let Alex take a nap in our bed.  He would not take the Buzz Lightyear gloves off for nap...this is priceless.  That's a piece of pretend hamburger bun on the bed next to him.  I found the top of the bun under the covers in the middle of the night after I rolled onto it, ha ha!

WINTER SINGING PROGRAM

Alex's school hosted its annual Winter Singing Program yesterday and it was terrific!  Alex's class sang two songs, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and the Raindrops song.  All of the kids were a little shy when they first walked out because there were so many parents watching but they warmed up quickly.  Alex did a great job!  Sorry the video (password is "alex") is a little shaky and wavers at times but I was laughing/crying a little bit because the kids were just sooooo cute.  Alex was quite the performer and we were so proud of him.  He got very excited when "cupcake" was said in the lyrics to the second song...you can see him jump out very animated during that part.  Enjoy!!!
