Getting Quick and Standing Solo!!

Alex is really getting quick with his mail cart. Sometimes he will actually sort of "run" with it, which is hilarious. Either way, he is very entertained by himself walking, which you can tell by his funny little laughter! This was on Thursday, 26 June. He melts my heart, I tell you!!!!!

I was getting Alex ready for his bath on Thursday night. I took off his clothes and he started to pull himself to the standing position by holding on to me. I was helping balance him a little, then he just let go and I wasn't holding him anymore. He stood there for what seemed like an eternity, but it was a good 30 seconds. He even caught himself and regained his balance a couple of times and probably thought mommy was a bit crazy b/c I was cheering him on and clapping (but waiting to catch him, too)! He did it again right after that and so I thought I would go ahead and bathe him, then grab the video camera. Well, I bathed him, dried him off, put on a diaper (enter Marc, home from work), but then he just wouldn't/couldn't do it again, for a long period of time. We did manage to get a quick video of him, though, and a few pics from right afterwards in his pajamas. Good job, Alexander!!!!

Alex was very intrigued by "Booger" and was definitely trying to figure out if Booger spoke baby talk. You can't tell on the video but Alex was presing his forehead into the glass when he was trying to look closer...too funny!

Alex loved his new swing in Huntsville! Grammy was pushing him and he really enjoyed it! The picture gets a little hazy towards the end thanks to the good old Texas humidity!

Vacation to TEXAS!!

Alex got to go for a walk to the grocery store with 2nd cousin Mallory, mommie, Aunt Kelsey, and Grandma Susie. Us gals ate chocolate-covered strawberries on the walk home!

While Grammy and Grandma Susie watched Alex, Carrie went fishing with her dad, Mike, in Port Mansfield. We limited out on trout and Carrie caught her first....

Alex couldn't quite stay on his feet at first!! The walker was adjusted to a very slow resistance...we've since changed the setting by two levels and he's doing great!

Same day, take two. This was about a week ago...he's pretty quick now!

We had a great time with the whole Cornelius/Wittwer family in Hilton Head, SC last week! Alex enjoyed his first visit to the beach where he played in the sand (some was consumed!) , chased a friendly Crane (bird), and let the waves crash over his legs with wild laughs! Christy's parents, Chris & Justine, drove down from Ohio, along with her brother John. (Great Great) Aunt Carol came down from Dublin to give Alex lots of kisses, too! Grandpa Chuck helped out a lot by feeding Alex, swimming with him in the pool, and taking him on long walks. Alex was crawling all over the beautiful house and Aunt Mallory and Aunt Margot were helping him practice his walking! Aunt Mallory's friend Lauren took Alex on long beach walks when he was cranky! We enjoyed 5-star meals prepared by Christy and chowed down on John's homemade salsa, guacamole and margaritas! We played poker twice, with Mal winning big the first time, and Marc and I splitting the pot in Round 2! We had a wonderful vacation and it was so great spending such quality time with family. We miss you all and love you!
